No. 04
City Sauce is a nod to urban and city life through the inspiration of film. Since beginning my journey with film and the development process, there are certain colors that surface through each film stock. These presets are a digital take on the subtleness at capturing those tones. Though this pack was inspired by the city, you can apply them to anything you capture. Urban or landscape, interior or exterior, these have you covered.

• Experienced at editing but still want to take it up a notch?
• Lost or don't have a certain look in mind but want to dial it in?
• You have the knowledge of colors but want it cohesively come together?
• Got a love for the film look but not sure how to get there?
City Sauce consists of three color presets and three black & white presets. Each preset has their "push" & "pull" modifier to quickly shift your image to a desired look. These modifiers are also a nod to the film world for how you can push and pull stock when developing. These wouldn't be complete without a weak and strong grain modifier as well.
Just like my other presets, City Sauce gives you a foundation to form your own look around. Basic shifts in your white balance, tint, intensity, etc. can go a long way to really developing unique looks with these presets.
PRESETS:
CHELSEA
The Chelsea preset really enriches the mid-tones in your images by offering a slightly cooler look while balancing the undertones. It was inspired by the Chelsea neighborhood on the west side of the borough of Manhattan. The buildings give a cooler subtle feel while still being industrial and rich in warmth.
Modifiers: Push, Pull, Grain Strong, Grain Weak
SOHO
The SoHo preset dives deeper in the shadows with a hint of warmth and magenta to enrich the mid-tones in a cohesive film look. It was inspired by the SoHo neighborhood in lower Manhattan that is rich in artistic and fashion culture. A lot of the buildings are brick with gradients that brighten and darken throughout the day to give that shift in warmth.
Modifiers: Push, Pull, Grain Strong, Grain Weak
WILLIAMSBURG
The Williamsburg preset gives more of a balanced warm & subtle green tint to your images within those mid-tones while still balancing the undertones. It was inspired by the parks and greenery around the bridges in the South Williamsburg neighborhood in Brooklyn. With constant shades of blue and green within the warehouses and buildings, this look enhances those moments. It's a nod to the Ektar Kodak in film.
Modifiers: Push, Pull, Grain Strong, Grain Weak
MONOKROME 1
The Monokrome 1 preset gives an overall balanced black & white tone to your image. This offers you the ability to shift and enhance as you wish. It's a middle ground to the essence of black and white with very little fade to pull off that polished look.
Modifiers: Push, Pull, Grain Strong, Grain Weak
MONOKROME 2 + GRAIN
The Monokrome 2 + Grain preset gives a flatter balanced black & white tone to your image. It was inspired by the Kodak Tri-X 400 120 film stock. This preset comes with a baked in grain that stays true to that film while maintaining detail and balanced fade in the black tones. You can also add more grain to this by applying the strong grain.
Modifiers: Push, Pull, Grain Strong, Grain Weak
MONOKROME 3
The Monokrome 3 preset is punchier in the whites while keeping richness in the black tones. It was inspired by the Ilford HP5 Plus film stock. This look showcases more of a pop in the undertones and brings in separation of your black and white tones.
Modifiers: Push, Pull, Grain Strong, Grain Weak
MODIFIERS:
GRAIN STRONG
This type of grain is inspired by 120 film grain that is a bit finer instead of rough yet stronger to get a deeper film look. It won't overpower your image like 35mm grain. You still get a clean image with it as well.
GRAIN WEAK
This type of grain is inspired by 120 film grain that is a bit finer instead of rough. You still get a clean image with it applied because it's subtle.
