Welcome to MDR — a carefully calibrated system for making images feel like themselves, only better. Each preset has been optimized to enhance color, protect skin tones, and maintain the dignity of highlights and shadows.
These are the presets I use every day — balanced, human, vibrant without exaggeration, and built for weddings, portraits, and everyday life. Dynamic range is respected. Color is encouraged but supervised. True white stays true.

DEFIANT JAZZ
The foundation. Built for everything.
Defiant Jazz draws out rich color and saturation while protecting real skin tones and honest whites. It adds depth without crushing shadows or blowing highlights, creating images that feel alive, confident, and unmistakably natural.
GOOD NEWS ABOUT HELL
The optimistic sibling.
Built for images that want light more than drama, this preset opens the highlights, softens the push on color, and keeps tones relaxed and believable. Balanced, confident, and just slightly better behaved.
OPTICS & DESIGN
Built on the Defiant Jazz foundation, with subtle AI support.
This preset layers intelligent refinements: a gentle AI mask to dim the background, subtle skin smoothing, and natural tooth whitening—never obvious, only helpful. The result feels polished, intentional, and still entirely human.
BW PRESETS:
IN PERPETUITY
The permanent record.
Designed for depth and character, this black & white gently darkens cooler areas while giving human warmth the room to lead, keeping contrast controlled rather than harsh. Whites remain true, blacks are lightly lifted, and the result feels classic without nostalgia.
CHIKHAI BARDO
Where craft meets automation.
Combines the tonal foundation of In Perpetuity with AI refinements—background shaping and gentle skin work—creating portraits that feel polished and unmistakably real.

Warmer overall with green-leaning, film-style shadows—moody, nostalgic, softly cinematic.
THE YOU YOU ARE
The default map from Defiant Jazz. A return to baseline. Colors in their proper places.
GRIM BARBARITY
More neutral tone mapping for a cooler, cleaner interpretation of the scene.
TONE CURVES:
DEEP BLACK - WOE
Pulls blacks to true black and brings nearby shadows with them for immediate drama.
CONTRAST - FROLIC
A simple, confident contrast lift for quick impact.
MUTED - DREAD
Lifts blacks and lowers whites for a matte, restrained finish.
TRUE BLACK - MALICE
Restores absolute black when the default lift needs correction.
AI REFINEMENTS:
BACKGROUND SHAPING
Gently dims and warms the background to guide attention without theatrics.
SKIN REFINEMENT
