I am a Washington, D.C based wedding photographer who enjoys capturing moments that reflect personalities and stories through his vision. I am truly blessed to be recognized by a few key credentials including 2017 MyWed Photographer of the Year, 2017 Top 10 WPJA & WPS Photographer, 2016 Top 10 Fearless Photographer, Rangefinder and JuneBug Best of the Best awards. Some of my favorite activities include visiting museums/galleries, camping out with my son and traveling around the world.

HOW DID YOU GET STARTED IN PHOTOGRAPHY?

My first camera: As soon as I quit playing Badminton for school, my mom gave me a point and shoot auto film camera as a gift when I was 12. She wanted to celebrate that I finally got out of that sport.

My first DSLR: I picked up my first DSLR (Canon 10D) in early 2003 for my friends as many of them were getting married around then.

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR STYLE?

I would say that my style is more like a hybrid of quirky lifestyle and documentary photography involving spontaneous and naturally staging transitions to evoke some creative and artsy context in the moment-driven candid photos.

WHAT DO YOU LOOK FOR IN AN IMAGE?

I really enjoy being observant and persistent for the images with the narratives that are well spoken and framed out in a good composition along with other aesthetic components well blended.

WHAT INSPIRES OR MOTIVATES YOU?

I really appreciate the community of wedding photographers for constant inspirations and education. I love visiting museums, random streets, authentic yet non touristic places while traveling to inspire myself with different lifestyle and wide range of spectrums portrayed in life. Staying modest motivates myself staying outside of the box and comfort zone.

WHAT CHALLENGES YOU?

Whenever I see awesome original ideas from other artists and photographers, I get challenged to be more different and original having myself giving a huge respect to the author.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE MOMENT OF A WEDDING?

I love when the emotional, fun, unforeseen moments happen that would lead me to capture something out of luck.

OF ALL YOUR IMAGES, DO YOU HAVE A FAVORITE ONE?

I love all my images showing the genuine moments of the people and having myself diving for it fearlessly. Especially, I love the beer spray photo. We all got wet at the end of the day.

ANYTHING ELSE WE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT KEN PAK?

I recently bought a pop up camper to spend more time with my family in a tight space while enjoying the vast nature.

I love the feasibility of DVLOP presets that allow the colors and tones in the photos to come closer to my ideal colors and tones to lift the quality of the image. I love playing with Fer's presets and palettes and also use Chrisman Studios and Jeff Newsom's set.
