I am an Arkansas based wedding photographer chasing light and adventures with couples. I enjoy traveling with my wife, camping, hiking, and cycling. Dad of two English Bulldogs.

HOW DID YOU GET STARTED IN PHOTOGRAPHY?

To be honest, I didn’t really set out to be a photographer. I just wanted a camera to post better photos on Facebook, haha! What I found was that I really enjoyed the challenge of it all. Eventually, friends started taking notice of the pictures I posted on Facebook and started asking me to shoot their weddings. From there, I started shooting more and never really looked back.

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR STYLE?

I’m always striving for a style that is natural. I never want anything to look forced or fake. My overall goal is for the couples I work with to come out of the shoot with a unique experience. I think nature plays a significant role in my style as well. There are times when I’ll wake up at 3:00 AM, drive to the mountains, and hike 3 miles with a couple just to catch a sunrise!

WHAT DO YOU LOOK FOR IN AN IMAGE?

I like for images to make me feel something. To make me think. I want to look at images that have intention behind them. All the feels please.

WHAT INSPIRES OR MOTIVATES YOU?

I get a lot of inspiration from music, nature, and other photographers. Let’s be real. The amount of talent out there is actually mind blowing.

WHAT CHALLENGES YOU?

I’m challenged by myself. I’m always striving to make myself a better photographer with each couple I work with. Trying to create something new and fresh for them. I embrace that challenge, I think that’s why I love photography so much. You’re constantly learning and evolving.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE MOMENT OF A WEDDING?

Probably when the groom sees the bride for the first time. Especially during a surprise first look. Gets me every time.

DVLOP has really helped me learn more about the details of editing. Tones, curves, and how they can affect an image. Editing with multiple presets, and tweaking those presets to your own style has been extremely intuitive and helpful. Instead of being stuck with one preset, you can mix all of the presets together.
